Dr. Tanzer resides in San Diego's North County (California) with his wife and partner, Elizabeth Goodman. Together they form the heart of KDC-- except for the KD part of KDC that is. (see below for de-tails)
In 1995, Dr. Tanzer co-founded a consulting firm under the banner of KDC & Associates, with the purpose of generating a vision for planetary sustainability through conscious business,

Dr. Herb Tanzer is an internationally recognized leader of cutting edge, transformational programs, renowned for his mastery in delivering and designing levels of training and coaching known to consistently produce exponential results in the areas of leadership, innovation, effectiveness and high performance.
Dr. Tanzer's corporate clients include some of the world's top Fortune 500 companies: Lucent Technologies, Pfizer, Amgen, Oracle, Ely Lilly, Raytheon, Citizens National Mortgage, and Siemens.
Immersed in the field of training and development since the 1980s, he has designed and delivered corporate workshops and seminars that empower professionals, managers, and senior executives in leadership, communication, teamwork, partnership and entrepreneurial endeavors. In the last twenty-eight years, Dr.Tanzer has coached tens of thousands of people from diverse cultures.

Dr. Tanzer graduated Phi Kappa Phi with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with distinction from Cornell University in 1956. As recipient of the prestigious Borden Award, he was honored for being first in his class throughout the four-year curriculum, 25 years in successful clinical practice followed during which time Dr. Tanzer lectured internationally in addition to serving as a research consultant at several prominent research institutions.
Dr. Tanzer has hosted his own television show on CNN, and subsequently worked with the NBC and ABC networks. He is a published author and sought after speaker. |

How KDC got its name
Twenty five years as a practicing veterinarian dealing with adorable , terrified pets and equally adorable, terrified people, trained me well in three critical areas; intuitive communication, compassion and patience. Those years, and lots of subsequent reflection, proved to be a profound training in the canine art of loving.
I felt a deep desire to share this Dog-given gift with the world. ( Dog =God spelled backwards). Much of the fear between people seems to be associated with an awful lot of seriousness. Perhaps a bit of humor could be applied to our organization's name….
Returning to my veterinary heritage, I thought it would be fun for me to name the company after our playful, tenacious Jack Russell terrier. While her protective, merciless bark could cause dragons to cower; all adult human beings were to be unconditionally adored.
Our early logos carried a dog sitting in an abandoned attaché case... I thought it would be fun to talk about the company and admit that I was a retired Vet, that my current job was traveling around the world training people to be as nice as dogs.
That playful tenacious terrier energy is still the future of KDC.

At KDC, we feel suffering is outdated. Our material is presented in an atmosphere of joy. Participants consistently report they are amazed at how they could become so aware and productive while having so much fun.
